He is already familiar with the English language because his mother is an Australian.

MY NEW WORLD - AUSTRALIA is a children's book that my mother wrote in German when she lived in South Africa just before her 80th birthday. I translated it to English and my brother, Daniel's father, provided all the photographs.

On 40 pages, the whole booklet is in two languages and therefore not only makes good bedtime reading, but is also educational for anyone learning the second language. The story marks an important milestone for a very gifted little boy growing up in the 21st century.

Eva Lange was born in Pomerania in 1926. Her family is widely scattered around the world and she keeps in constant contact with everyone not only over the Internet, but also visits to get an impression of her children’s and grandchildren’s home of choice. Until 2004 she travelled with her husband.

When her youngest son moved from Germany to Australia with his family in 2004, her grandson Daniel was enthusiastic to show her his new surroundings soon after and she had the idea of documenting all this in a book.

She had enough photos since her son captures everything with his digital camera for friends and relatives, to be spread around the world over the Internet. Bilingual text in German and English was called for because her four children live on four different continents.

She would be pleased if other children would benefit from this as well and learn something about the beautiful and interesting continent of Australia from a child’s perspective.

MEINE NEUE WELT - AUSTRALIEN ist ein Kinderbuch, das meine Mutter auf Deutsch geschrieben hat, als sie in Südafrika lebte, kurz vor ihrem 80sten Geburtstag. Ich habe es dann ins Englische übersetzt und mein Bruder, Daniel's Vater, hat alle Fotos beigesteuert.

Das ganze Buch ist zweisprachig auf 40 Seiten und nicht nur schön als 'Gute-Nacht-Geschichte', sondern hat auch erzieherischen Wert für alle, die eine zweite Sprache lernen. Es markiert einen wichtigen Meilenstein für einen sehr begabten kleinen Jungen, der im 21sten Jahrhundert aufwächst.

Eva Lange ist 1926 in Pommern geboren. Sie hat eine über die ganze Welt verstreute Familie und ist mit ihr nicht nur über Email und Internet ständig verbunden, sondern besucht sie auch, um die Wahlheimat der Kinder und Enkel kennenzulernen. Bis zum Jahre 2004 reiste sie zusammen mit ihrem Mann.

Als ihr jüngster Sohn mit Familie 2004 von Deutschland nach Australien umzog und ihr Enkel Daniel ihr bald darauf begeistert sein neues Umfeld zeigte, kam ihr die Idee, das alles in einem kleinen Buch festzuhalten.

Fotos hatte sie genug, da ihr Sohn alles mit seiner Digitalkamera für die entfernte Verwandtschaft festhält und per Internet verbreitet. Da ihre vier Kinder auf vier verschiedenen Erdteilen leben, was eine Zweisprachigkeit erfordert, bot sich ein Text in Englisch und Deutsch an.

Sie würde sich freuen, wenn auch andere Kinder davon profitieren und dabei einiges aus der Sicht eines Kindes über das schöne und interessante Australien erfahren.
